We Are GROWTH

GROWTH NC, a nonprofit co-founded by Asha Freeland-James and Taylor Dorsey-Flowers, both Durham natives and lifelong friends united by a shared passion for uplifting youth and strengthening their community. Through this foundation, youth receive intentional mentorship, leadership development, and safe spaces to grow, lead, and thrive.

Our Vision

The founders of GROWTH NC have shared how strong women poured into their lives and supported them in immeasurable ways. This “it takes a village” mindset reflects the African philosophy of Ubuntu:

With grateful hearts, the founders created GROWTH NC to pour into the lives of young girls, just as their village once poured into them.
